Reference tools

Four calculators, four reference bands.

Enter a reading and get a plain-language read-out based on commonly published clinical reference ranges. Results are informational only — not a diagnosis.

Blood Pressure Range Interpreter

Blood pressure is recorded as systolic (pressure while the heart beats) over diastolic (pressure between beats), in mmHg. The bands below reflect commonly cited reference ranges and are not tailored to your personal history, medications or age.

  • Normal: below 120/80 mmHg
  • Stage 1 band: 130–139 / 80–89 mmHg
  • Stage 2 band and above: 140+/90+ mmHg

Enter a reading above to see its reference range.

Glucose Level Reference Tool

Blood glucose reference bands differ depending on when the reading was taken. Choose the context that matches your reading for a relevant comparison.

  • Normal fasting: 70–99 mg/dL
  • Elevated fasting: 100–125 mg/dL
  • High fasting: 126 mg/dL and above

Enter a reading above to see its reference range.

BMI Calculator

Body Mass Index is a general screening ratio of weight to height. It does not distinguish muscle from fat and is not appropriate as a standalone health assessment for everyone — including athletes, older adults and pregnant individuals.

  • Typical range: 18.5–24.9
  • Above typical: 25–29.9
  • Well above typical: 30 and up

Enter your weight and height above.

Lipid Profile Reference Tool

A standard lipid panel reports total cholesterol, LDL and HDL in mg/dL. Enter your three values to see how each compares to commonly cited reference bands.

  • Desirable total cholesterol: below 200 mg/dL
  • Borderline LDL: 130–159 mg/dL
  • HDL below 40 mg/dL: below protective threshold

Enter your panel values above.
